PCE Ltd (Premier Communication Electronics), previously known, as PC Electronics Ltd, is an Exeter-based independently-owned company. The business was originally formed in the outlying town of Crediton in the early 1970s, moved to premises in Bonhay Road, Exeter, in 1995 and to its present location in Sowton in 2002
Specialising in radio and mobile communications, we design, install, service and maintain every aspect of our customers' communication systems. Our current customer portfolio is quite extensive.

We have worked in conjunction with a huge array of different companies, including health authorities, police authorities and other public and private sector organisations and businesses.
Karen Langley - Managing Director
After leaving Mount St Mary’s Convent School for Girls in Exeter, Karen entered the finance world and gained experience in commercial foreign transactions, business and private lending, university & student banking and mortgages finance over a 14-year period.
Following the birth of her first two children, Karen studied and qualified in bookkeeping then basic accountancy, before taking a post-graduate degree in business management at Exeter University.
Karen joined PCE in 1995 to run the administrative, commercial and legislative aspects of business. She became a director and shareholder in 1998, becoming Managing Director and the majority shareholder in 2008.
Karen is married to Harry Langley, Managing Director of South West Communications Group, and has three children. She is a sponsor of Exeter Chiefs RFC, a school governor at West Hill Primary School, and has a particular interest in children with special educational needs.
Andy Trout - Director
Andy left Tiverton High School to study hotel and catering at Exeter College. He left college to work at the Park Lane Hotel and rose from first commis chef to demi chef in two years.
The father-of-one took a break from catering before retraining in digital and analogue electronics. He was taken on for work experience at PCE, which resulted in him being offered a full-time position.
Andy, who enjoys F1 and Xbox in his spare time, became a director in 2008.
Doug Smith - Technical sales manager
Doug trained as an aircraft electrician in the Royal Air Force and enjoyed working on Tornado aircraft and as a trade training instructor at RAF Halton. A 15-year career followed with Cable & Wireless in telecoms engineering, operations management and product marketing roles.
In 2003, Doug relocated to the South West and spent five years in a commercial sales management role with a high growth specialist coach-building business. More recently, he has worked in a sales capacity for a small Plymouth-based venture selling carbon reduction solutions to a range of public and private sector clients.
Doug and his partner have two children and enjoys attending pub quizzes and keeping fit through mountain biking and water sports.
