PCE adds lone worker solution to its product portfolio

11 November 2011

Premier Communication Electronics (PCE) Ltd has launched a new lone worker solution to complement its existing range of communications products and services.

PCE, based in Exeter, is an award-winning expert in the design and installation of digital radio systems, but also provides, installs and maintains asset and vehicle tracking systems, and now a lone worker solution.

This solution from Guradian24 can be used with a range of equipment: a standard mobile, a Smartphone, such as a BlackBerry, or applications including Android or Windows PDA. Alternatively, an identity card fob or a ruggedized Sonim mobile unit is also available.

It allows users to log their whereabouts, daily tasks and appointments and any other important information, and should the user’s safety be compromised, they can easily summon emergency help by pressing a panic button on their chosen device.

This service can be used to protect staff, such as health visitors, estate agents, cleaners, security staff and others from attack, abuse, accidents and robbery when lone working, travelling to and from work, visiting client in their homes and business, and when working on remote sites.

Doug Smith, PCE’s technical sales manager, said: “Some of our existing customers expressed a need for a solution for their workers that are working on their own at times, such as hospital porters or cleaners, and are therefore more vulnerable. These days, many organisations and businesses have to consider the duty of care and safety of their staff as part of their corporate health and safety responsibilities.

“We chose Guardian24 as the solution we wished to provide due to its proven track record and the fact more than 32,000 people are currently using its lone worker system. We believe this solution may be of use to existing PCE customers and potential new customers.”
